Best food I've tasted for long time

My “go to” taco and breakfast burrito place! Definitely one of my favorite places in the Monterey area.

Typical terrible food. The carne asada looked liked road gravel. Why they chop their meet up so tiny I'll never know? Save your money for an authentic taqueria.

Drove there and went through the drive through. After ordering a $7.10 burrito it was soggy. It was unjustifiably overpriced. And the burrito itself was small.

I grew up here, and now that I love in Seattle, Papa Chevo's is one of those places I have to stop when I'm in town. The Breakfast Burrito with bacon is the go to, but the veggie burrito, chili rellenos burrito, and chorizo breakfast burritos are solid back-up choices. The sopes are also delicious. And something they can make, but don't advertise, are carnitas fries - asada fries, but with carnitas.Also, put the Salsa Verde on everything. Trust me. SO GOOD!

My wife is really sick of me suggesting Papa Chevo's every time she asks what we should get to eat.I am not going to stop because this really is where I want to eat.

Really good carne asada fries

Saturday night I stood outside to order and staff just looked me and acted like i wasn’t there. Weird. They didn’t look happy cooking either. Eventually I got the message and went to In and Out Burger in Seaside. In and Out took my order right away and it was cleaner than Papa Chevos. No point in going back to Chevos again.

Small family owned business with exceptional food. There is no indoor seeing but there are a couple of tables in front. They also provide drive thru service.

Fantastic and tasty food, I love the ambience the spot has, and the cashiers were super friendly. Will definitely visit here again.

Little taste of Mexico, but i wish they would use the same tortillas from their burritos on their smaller tacos, not that white wash weird tortillas that have zero flavor. Use real flour tortillas and you'll get more business i guarantee you

Love coming here everytime I'm in town. The al pastor fries are my favorite.

Great food, will definitely return when we are back in this area. We came 2 nights in a row because we liked it so much. Both nights were busy, which speaks volumes since other places in the vicinity looked dead.

We ordered #10, #17, #18, 3 rice bean & cheese burritos, chorizo breakfast burrito, taco salad & a medium jamaica drink.Everything was great except the taco salad. Their taco salad is chips with everything on top & not a taco bowl 😥.There is a drive through, however we order at the window all the time. The prices are great & the service is fast.

Ate here twice during my stay in the area. Good food, generous portions, nice lady at the ordering window, and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend, especially for Kate night munchies.

Probably the first place I use to go to get carne asada fries and it was good but now trying different places with better fries better quality meat it makes this place look like a Taco Bell!! I really dont like there little pieces of meat there carne asada isnt juicy its a quick make.. Why does the tacos have tomato tacos shouldnt have tomato and why do you guys use shredded cheese .. This is TacoBell 😂 Ive also seen more places like this Up North That is the exact same type of color uniforms and Menus its washed up Find a authentic mexican restaraunt. Sorry just the truth.

Great tacos. Authentically made with care and quality ingredients. The burritos are not as good but that's not saying much.

I would give Papa Chevo's more stars if I could. This is the only place I have found in Northern California where I can get a "deep fried shredded beef taco". The menu and food is very similar to Alberto's, Filiberto's and Roberto's in Southern California and Arizona, so if you don't have the time to drive to LA, then this is the place to get your taco fix.

This is my go-to Taqueria. I have 3 toddlers so I love the convenience of the drive-thru. The only thing is I wish they would wash out the seeds to the Chile’s for their Chile Rellenos. I’m not a fan of the seeds. I paid like $22.68 for 3 burritos and a large Agua Fresca. Don’t be in a hurry if you use the drive-thru. It takes a while but it’s worth the wait. They have yummy salsas too. I love that they’re open late too.

Waited over 25 mins for a 10 dollar burrito, come home to see I got a 4 dollar bean cheese burrito..lesson learned, dont trust them, check everything at window if you go there.

Great place to stop by after a long ride on the nearby bike trail. Outdoor ordering or drive thru makes it easy to order and keep watch over your bikes. Food takes a bit to come out but very hot and fresh. Will visit again.

I showed up to the drive thru and they just looked at me. I sat at the speaker for five minutes and no one said anything so I just left. Won't be going back there.

Everything is always seasoned to perfection. The salsa reminds me of growing up and eating with my Mexican friends, who's grandma's made food every day. I appreciate the generous portions and that they don't skimp on the salsa. Love this place ❤️

This is my go to taco place whenever i want Mexican food. They have a good number of food selection plus their super burrito is really good! I recommend papa Chevo’s taco shop to anyone who is visiting Monterey!
